I am so happy that you have decided to introduce your pets to Shirley’s Purrfect Pet Sitting, Inc. Here are our policies.

RESERVATIONS – Make reservations or changes to reservations by calling (218) 262‑4254 or email shirley@ShirleysPets.com. It is recommended that you book in advance to ensure that you get the time you desire.

CANCELLATIONS – If you cancel 24 hours before your reservation, we will accept your cancellation. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your first scheduled visit, you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to one visit.

MEET & GREET – An in home visit is required before the first time I sit your pet(s). This is free of charge.

SCHEDULING – It is recommended to have at least one visit per day while you are away for cats and outside dogs. A minimum of two visits per day are recommended for inside dogs. Safety is the key factor for recommending a minimum of one visit per day. What if your furnace goes out? What if your pet becomes ill?

RETURNING HOME – When you arrive home, please call me. I want to know that your pet is safe!

KEYS – It is recommended that you allow Shirley’s Purrfect Pet Sitting to retain your key for future service. This is very convenient for emergencies and other last minute bookings. Otherwise, I will leave your key in the house on the last day and lock the door behind me (no hanging it in a tree or putting it under the doormat).

EMERGENCIES – If you need to be out of town longer than expected, call me (no email). I will do my best to accommodate you.

INCLEMENT WEATHER – Clients are expected to make arrangements for snow removal so that I am able to park in driveways and use walkways. Walks may need to be shorter due to inclement weather. This is both for my safety and the safety of your pet(s). Also keep in mind, I will get to your house as soon as possible. But if it snows, I need to dig out too. This will be done as fast as possible.

ILLNESS – Unfortunately illness is a fact of life as well. I will take care of your pet(s) if at all humanly possible. But we will need to discuss how you want the situation handled if the need arises.

PAYMENT – Payment is required in full at the time of service. Shirley’s Purrfect Pet Sitting accepts cash and checks. A $30 fee will apply to all returned checks. It is usually most convenient for payment to be left in a safe place in your home. Pet sitting is a taxable service. Tax will be included in the price stated. Mileage and/or travel time will be charged in certain situations.

VACCINATIONS – All pets must be up to date on vaccinations.

SUPPLIES – All supplies for the pet(s) will be provided for by the client. However, I don’t mind running to the store for you (time permitting) if you don’t mind the extra charge. If you change the location of supplies, don’t forget to notify me. All dogs are required to be walked on a leash. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all collars, leashes, fences and gates are in good working order. Shirley’s Purrfect Pet Sitting cannot be held responsible for dogs that escape their perimeter.

MEDICAL CARE – Shirley’s Purrfect Pet Sitting will attempt to contact you first if there is a need for medical care. If you cannot be reached, care will be obtained if at all possible. You will need to reimburse those expenses unless you have made arrangements with your veterinarian to charge you.

PRIVACY – Your privacy will be respected. Only those areas of your home necessary to the care of your pet(s) will be accessed unless asked/agreed upon.
